"I was hoping to stick a Quad Core in my AM2 MoBo (ASRock AM2V890-VSTA) in preparation for Win7, but not happening (no bios support) ;-(. This was the fastest replacement I could find for my AMD X2 3600 (2.0 GHz). Ran a benchmark program (PassMark Performance Test) and its over 2X faster! (283.1 vs 678.2) That should hold me for another year or two? p.s. Killer Fan! Might have to try overclocking it...." Read Full Review »

"The fancy thermal system does not allow it to fit into the socket frame. Let me clarify. The chip goes into the mobo socket fine. But the heat pipes are interfering with the part that clamps the heatsink down. The heatsink can't seat down against the chip. Is this square frame replacable? There are 4 screws holding it to the mobo. Are they self tappers or do I have to get to the back of the mobo. What is this pa..." Read Full Review »

"I upgraded from a 3500+ which was fast already in my opinion, but this thing was just amazing.
In the last 6 months i've been using it, it's been just amazing.
Running multiple programs at a time (at one time 200 internet browsers at a time)

"Honestly, I could not notice any increase in performance after installing. It was a good learning experience due to the fact this was my first processor upgrade install. No need for a fancy fan or cooler on this one. The factory fan that it comes with does just fine. "

"Great processor! I received this processor in a bundle with an ASUS motherboard. It runs nice and rather cool in my server, and is plenty fast. The included heatsink and fan work just fine - rather quiet, as far as the fan goes. Overall, a great buy. "
