The grip material feels rubberized, so it gives better traction than the camera's own grip. "I love this product, and purchased it based on the other reviews. I do hate to drag down the average, but there's a really, really good reason for it: The Li-ion battery tray didn't work! Because this arrived with my T1I, I played with AA's while the batteries charged, and the AA battery try was just fine. I put in the Li-ion, and nothing. It's Friday, and a long weekend.
